About Korean Physical Society It has been almost 60 years since the Korean physical Society (KpS) was founded in 1952 during the Korean War. Since then the KpS has dedicated itself to developing research in physics and to promoting the application and the extension of such research and further contributions to the development science, as stated ion the objectives of the articles of Incorporation, the KpS. As a result, the KpS has progressed steadily to become one of the most influential academic societies in Korea and 11 divisions, 7 regional branches, and about 6,000 members. During the same time, the KpS has made efforts to increase international relations with foreign physical societies and institutes. Now, the KpS has reciprocal membership agreements with 7 foreign physical societies, including societies in Japan and the United States. Also, the KpS has joined several physics-related organizations such as the IUpAp, the AAppS, and the ApCTp.
