  On the occasion of the tenth in the series of thematic conferences organized by the Macedonian Society for ETAI, we dedicate the COSY 2011 Conference to a great scientist and researcher, Professor Dr.-Ing. Georgi Dimirovski. We would like to express our deepest respect and our sincere gratitude for everything he did for the establishment, development, progress and affirmation of the ETAI Society, under whose auspices is the organization of the present one (ETAI 2011) and all the previous ETAI and AAS conferences. Despite more than forty-five years of active professional life, this man of great and free spirit is still eager in his intensions always to move towards new challenges and opportunities. As a result of his unselfish efforts, today the ETAI Society is a member of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC). As a man with immense vision for the modern world, he accepts challenges for continuous learning and upgrading arising from new technologies developments, particularly in the field of complex system engineering and control. In order to promote the scientific knowledge and developments in these fields, he initiated and founded the Applied Automation Systems Symposium (AAS), organized by the ETAI Society. Being a member of many IPC committees of IFAC, IEEE, ECC and WAC international conferences, professor Dimirovski selflessly uses his acquaintances and every opportunity for promoting and developing of scientific thought and new technologies in his homeland, Republic of Macedonia, for which he shows immense love in every occasion.
