  The International Bologna Meeting on Magnetic Resonance in Porous Media biennial conference series, inaugurated in 1990, addresses the development and application of magnetic resonance techniques to porous media and regularly attracts delegates from both academia and industry from across the world. MRPM11 was hosted from 9th to 13th September 2012 by the Department of Physics at the University of Surrey, Guildford UK, and incorporated the Colloquium on Mobile MR (CMMR), aimed at communicating recent developments and applications of mobile magnetic resonance. MRPM11 was organised under the auspices of the Groupement AMPERE working in association with the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna.
