  The World Association for Sport Management (WASM) is pleased to announce its 2nd World Conference to be held in Kaunas, Lithuania hosted by the Lithuanian Sport University. This WASM World Conference will bring together scholars, practitioners, professionals, and students from around the world to share expertise, knowledge, and new ideas about the global venture of the sport business. The conference theme is a focus on sport business practice, issues, collaboration, networking, management, and marketing of sport business in a global marketplace, which offers a platform for the international exchange of ideas, best practices, and scientific inquires. Dr. Sergey Altukhov made two presentations at the conference and took part in two panel discussions "THE NEW SPORTING COLD WAR AND SPORT MANAGEMENT: THE IMPLICATIONS OF THE RUSSIAN DOPING ALLEGATIONS FOR SPORTS MANAGEMENT AND POLICY" and "GLOBALIZING THE MANAGEMENT AND MARKETING OF ICE HOCKEY IN A COMPETITIVE SPORTING LANDSCAPE". The World Association of Sport Management WASM provided an opportunity for scientists from around the world to discuss at this conference proposals with a global focus on sports management and the global sports business, the specifics of sports development and management of sports projects, sports policy features and the development of sports as an entertainment industry. Experience at such a representative conference once again points to the need to create such a Russian platform for open discussions and develop solutions that correspond to the current level of development of sport, technical and technological innovations and existing world trends in sports management. The next conference of the World Association of Sport Management will be held in Santiago, Chile, in 2019.
