  The meeting is organized as a part of the European Union COST Action MP1104 "Polarisation as a tool to study Solar System and beyond" (www.polarisation.eu). This workshop was organised to accommodate 49 scientists from Czech Republic (Astronomical Inst.AS CR, Prague), Bulgaria (Space and Research Technology Inst, Sofia), Finnland (Uni. of Turku), France (CNES, CNRS, CEA Saclay, IN2P3, Observatoire de Astronomic Strassburg), Germany (MPE, MPIfR, DESY, TUM) , Italy (INAF-IAPS, Rome, Padova, ), Spain, Japan (IASA/JAXA, Kyoto UNiversity, Kanazawa University, Hiroshima University), China (Tsinghua Uni.) , India (Raman Research Institute, Bangalore), Poland (N. Copernicus Astronomical Center, Warsaw Uni.) , Russia (MSU), UK (Northumbria University), USA (NASA GSFC, MSFC, JPL, CalTech, Washington Uni., Uni. of Alabama) - all those who are involved in the development, or already active experiments, like INTEGRAL and IKAROS-GAP, that are using polarimetry as a new astronomical window to study Universe.
