  On October 20, 2017, Infertility Treatment and Reproductive Genetics clinic iVF Riga together with iVF Riga Stem Cell Centre will organize and host the Third Annual International Reproductive, Genetic & Biotechnology Conference that has already become a traditional. The venue of the conference - Radisson Blu Latvija Conference & Spa Hotel. Leading experts from Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, England, Israel, Spain, Belgium will tell the participants of the conference about the new research and advanced techniques in the field of genetics, cell therapy and reproductology. The conference program includes two sessions. During the first session, dedicated to cellular technologies and regenerative therapy, the possibilities of using induced pluripotent stem cells in neurodegenerative diseases will be considered. Fillipo Zambelli, the representative of Vrije University, Brussel (Belgium) will share his knowledge about the clinical application of stem cells in the treatment of gynecological diseases. Adomas Bukauskas from the Vilnius University Hospital will talk about the possibilities of applying mesenchymal stem cells in graft-versus-host disease. Attention of the conference participants will also be paid to the questions of cellular products quality control and the effectiveness of their application. Jan-Bernd Stukenborg, PhD, Associate Professor from Karolinska Institute and University Hospital (Sweden) will tell how far is the science in the field of using stem cells as a potential source for male gametes. Dr. Zita Krūmiņa, Rīga Stradiņš University, Department of Biology and Microbiology specialist will share case reports about stem cell transplantation in rare genetic disorders. During the second session, dedicated to genetics and reproductive medicine, experienced specialists from Latvia, Spain, United Kingdom and Sweden will talk about their achievements using preimplantation genetic testing (PGS and PGD) to increase the chances of getting a pregnancy and give birth to a genetically healthy child. Special attention will be paid to the problems of miscarriage. Speakers will also focus on quality control in genetic researches. Participation in the 3rd annual international conference "Reproductology, Genetics and Biotechnology" will give an opportunity to specialists of various fields of medicine and biology to get acquainted with the most advanced scientific achievements in reproductive medicine and cellular technologies. It is also a possibility to get answers to many scientific and medical questions, to obtain new knowledge in order to use in daily practice.
