Nonlinearity is a frequent occurrence in engineering structures due to, e.g., interfaces between different subcomponents, the developments of new materials and the need for ever lighter structures. Even if nonlinearity is often seen as detrimental by practicing engineers, it represents an additional modeling and design parameter which should be deployed deliberately when feasible. The purpose of this conference is to bring together scientists from around the world to promote exchange and discussions around the latest research developments in the area of nonlinear vibrations. The conference will be organized in the heart of Europe, at the University of Liège in Belgium. It is the sixth conference of the series and follows on from five successful conferences held in Fréjus, 2003; Samos, 2006; Roma, 2009; Haifa, 2012; Istanbul, 2014. Papers are solicited in all aspects of nonlinear dynamics and vibrations, including analytical and computational methods, energy transfer and localization, modal analysis, model reduction, system identification, vibration absorbers and harvesters. Papers that investigate the impact of nonlinearity in real-life applications are particularly welcome. In addition to four keynote lectures delivered by renowned experts in the field, the conference will feature state-of-the-art tutorials for young researchers and practitioners who are not yet acquainted with nonlinear dynamics.
