  The Workshop is expected to foster dialogue among a diverse group of stakeholders in the field of capacity building for space science, technology and its applications, and to take stock and discuss about various ideas and proposals for improving coordination and cooperation in the future. One such idea is the proposal by the Office for Outer Space Affairs to establish a Capacity Building Network (CBN) to help upscale as well as better coordinate and link to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development the presently fragmented approaches towards space capacity building. The outcomes and recommendations identified will provide inputs for the United Nations Report on Thematic Priority 7, capacity building for the 21st century, to be delivered in June 2018 for UNISPACE+50 , an event celebrating the 50t h anniversary of the first United Nations Conference on the Exploration and Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, and an opportunity for the international community to gather and consider the future course of global space cooperation for the benefit of humankind.
