INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON ANALYSIS OF CHEMICAL WARFARE AGENTS TO MARK THE 20th ANNIVERSARY OF THE CWC 11-13 December, 2017 ● Hotel Katajanokka Helsinki, Finland ANNOUNCEMENT Finnish Institute for Verification of the Chemical Weapons Convention (VERIFIN) Location Hotel Katajanokka Street address: Merikasarminkatu 1, Helsinki The following topics are covered · The New Blue Book 2017 · New developments in analysis of environmental and material samples a. Derivatization methods b. High resolution mass spectrometry in screening and identification · Biomedical sample analysis · Toxin analysis · Analysis of Central Nervous System Acting chemicals · The OPCW Proficiency Tests · On-site detection, sampling and analysis including forensics-mobile labs The Recommended Operating Procedures for the Chemical Weapons Convention-related analysis are updated in collaboration with expert laboratories working in the field. These new recommendations, the New Blue Book 2017, will be announced in this International Workshop 11-13 Dec 2017. The program includes lectures, a poster session and an instrument exhibition. The invited speakers are internationally acknowledged scientists in the field of chemical warfare agent analysis. Participants are encouraged to submit papers for poster presentations
