Highly luminescent, stable, water-soluble and biocompatible lanthanide pentafluorobenzoates were characterized by means of EXAFS spectroscopy measured at LIII metal edge, focusing on Eu- (III) and Tb(III) complexes as visible emitters and Nd(III), Er(III) and Yb(III) as infrared emitters. It’s shown that structural and metal bonding information of these complexes in solutions could be determined by EXAFS spectroscopy. Based on EXAFS data were investigated dissociation degree and type of metal atom (Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu) coordination in water solutions.
