The study and comparison of soils (with a slight anthropogenic influence) under wood plantation parks in Moscow and Rostov-on-Don is conducted. The contents of the soil organic matter (Corg) by methods bichromate oxidation and using high-temperature catalytic combustion analyzer total organic carbon (TOC-L CPN Shimadzu), group composition of humus by Tyurin’s method (modifications by Ponomareva-Plotnikova and Kononova-Belchikova) have been determined. Pools (reserves) of total organic carbon, taking into account bulk density, thickness of the soil horizon and the Corg contents in the horizons were calculated. Micromorphological studies were conducted in thin sections on a polarizing microscope Polam-113 (magnification from 20 to 100). In spite of the fact that of cultural wood plantings happen in different natural zones and on a different soil-rock base (Chernozems and Retisols), but in 60 years a leveling of distinctions is observed. That occurs due to both the influence of wood vegetation, and the weak urban environment impact. Zonal soil characteristics have been saved in the middle and lower horizons of soils. Pools of Corg both in the surface horizons and in meter thickness increase in general. The influence of zone conditions is expressed in distinction of humic acids quality.
