Concentrations of cesium-137, radial and spatial distribution regularities were identified in soils of Snezhnogorsk town(the Murmansk Region) based on the data collected during a soil survey in 2014.The 137Cs average storage is 265 Bq m-2 in soils of Snezhnogorsk. The average amount of137Cs storageis 1.7-3.4 times lower than its background level. The maximum accumulation (specific activityand storage) of these radionuclides is observed in the undisturbed soils of the recreation area covered with natural forests with natural forests. The current radiation state of top-soils of Snezhnogorsk was estimated as safe one. The average and maximum contamination density of 137Cs is around 1% and 5% of the maximum permissible one in the Russian Federation, respectively.
