Within the framework of this study the simple urban canopy model (MetGIS) allowing to reproduce meteorological conditions of the East‐European city was developed. Previous version of this model (MosClim)(Kislov A., Konstantinov P.,2011) was applied to predict temperature regime in Moscow region in Russia for the middle and the end of XXI century. New version based on the data pro‐ vided by regional models (WRF, COSMO_RU) and allows to predict meteorologi‐ cal condition with spatial resolution about few hundred kilometers. It is repre‐ sented, that the detailed description of microclimatic properties can be achieved due to the obvious account of the local effects participating in formation of a temperature mode of city territory. The main feature of MetGIS is the implementation of urban canopy model in ArcGIS technology through the use of Python‐based scripts. It allows to work with space‐variable grid resolution (0,15 ‐0,5 km). MetGIS modeling system programs are mostly Fortran programs that require compilation on your local computer. Our study area for testing universal method of generating the meteorological database is Moscow, Russian Federation. GIS (Geographical Information System) extension is created for calculating all thermo‐physical characteristics based on ESRI product – ArcGis 10. Also the advantages of GIS technology provide a wide range of tools for spatial and math‐ ematic analysis and results visualization. 1.
