MWCNT were dispersed in aqueous solution by means of interaction with polydiallyldimethylammonium chloride (PDADMAC), which was confirmed by means of IR-spectroscopy. Such stable MWCNT dispersions were used for platinum nanoparticles formation due to PDADMAC can coordinate hexachloroplatinate ions by nitrogen atoms. Platinum ions reduction was carried out 2 different types of reducing agents – soft and hard reducing agents. It was shown that soft ethyleneglycole reducing agent leads to formation of monodisperse platinum nanoparticles with diameter approx. 2 nm on MWCNT surface, while hard sodium borohydride reducing agent result in the formation of large platinum aggregates not connected with MWCNT surface.
