It was shown that the suspensions of submicron magnetic particles in wormlike micellar solutions show high stability against sedimentation, which may be explained by linking the particles to energetically unfavorable micellar end-caps. It was demonstrated that the addition of the particles increases the zero-shear viscosity, the plateau modulus, and the relaxation time of the suspension, which was attributed to the formation of multifunctional cross-links by the particles incorporated into the micellar network. It was shown that when some concentration of particles was reached, the plateau modulus becomes independent of the content of particles, which indicates that all micellar end-caps become linked to the particles. Another remarkable property of the new soft nanocomposite is its responsiveness to magnetic field. Under action magnetic field the system transform from liquid-like to solid-like which results in a constant value of storage modulus at all studied frequencies of the applied stress and in the appearance of yield stress value. Such rheological behavior known as magnetorheological effect can be attributed to the formation of chains-like structures of particles along the magnetic field lines, which opposes the flow.
