Microelectrode was prepared by soldering ensemble of copper microwires in borosilicate glass under vacuum. The properties of the copper surface were examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The electrochemical behaviors of the copper ultamicroelectrode were also investigated by cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry. The usefulness of the fabricated electrochemical sensor was shown by the determination of glucose, hydrogen peroxide and formaldehyde in model solutions.
