The paper presents the results of energy potential assessment from agricultural sector wastes (crops and livestock) on the example of the Republic of Crimea – recreational and energy deficient region. This work shows the uneven distribution of different types of biomass wastes that is associated with the agro-climatic and geomorphological conditions of the studied territory, The estimations of energy potential has been carried out at the level of municipalities – for districts and urban districts. The analysis of the results allowed to identify the main crops of plants and livestock, which are most promising for energy use. It is shown that the energy potential of grain and sunflower waste is concentrated in the Northern and North-Eastern parts of the Crimean peninsula. While the southern and Central regions of the Crimea are characterized with high energy potential of waste viticulture and orchards. Thus, a significant part of the territory of the Crimean Federal district is provided with raw materials for the development of bioenergy based on agricultural wastesprocessing.
