Evaluation of potential geological hazards in the near-surface is an essential stage prior to the offshore construction, drilling and exploitation. Typically, geohazards are identified and evaluated from seismic observations. Over the recent years, the shelf of the Kara Sea (Russian Arctic) has undergone extensive exploration including 2D & 3D seismic and geotechnical site surveys. In this research we present the novel results on geological hazards in this area based on the integrated analysis of the available data. We discuss seismic signatures of the potential geohazards and their distinctive attributes such as AVO-attributes, interval velocities and seismic attenuation.
