We analyze the possibilities of photon counting statistics method for analyzing the stability of pulsed lasers operating in the few-photon mode. Pulse trains from picosecond pulsed diode laser (660 nm, 5 kHz) attenuated to a low photon number were investigated by 100-pixel SiPM. It is shown that the statistics of photocounts is more informative than the procedure based on the measurement of photon correlation functions.
