Center for Avalanche Safety monitors water and snow flows for many years. Based on these data and data on water and snow flows in Norway in 1996, developed two probabilistic and statistical method for diagnosing situations that lead to the formation of water and snow flows. In both methods, the situation described by a set of meteorological characteristics, divided into two groups - the lead and did not lead to the formation of water and snow flows. On the basis of this method was a computer program for continuous assessment of meteorological conditions in order to identify situations favorable for the formation of water and snow flows during spring snowmelt, which is used at the Center for avalanche safety "Apatit" for fifteen years. The results of the probabilistic and categorical diagnosis education water and snow flows in some high-altitude areas and centers of water and snow flows in Khibiny using methods developed in an independent sample.
