In bimetallic Co-Ce-ZSM-5 catalysts, synergy of the action of two metals is observed, the order of introduction and the ratio of which in the samples have a significant impact on the activity of the system. Figure 1 shows the heating and cooling cycles for mono Co-ZSM-5 and Ce-ZSM-5 and bimetallic Co-Ce-ZSM-5. It is seen that Ce-ZSM-5 is little active in the oxidation of CO, 100% conversion is not achieved even at 300 °C, and T50 is 240° C, while T50 for Co-ZSM-5 decreases to 170 °C. The cobalt-cerium system is much more active, the T50 decreases to 130 °C, and 100% conversion is achieved already at 160 °C. The characteristic feature of the Co-Ce-ZSM-5 is their development during the reaction process, in contrast to oxide systems, where the catalyst usually loses its activity during the process.
