One of the promising directions of membrane materials with enhanced gas transport properties development is creation of mixed matrix membranes (MMM) by introducing various fillers into polymer matrix. One of the most actively studied types of fillers are porous aromatic frames (PAF). As a rule, the synthesis of porous aromatic frameworks is carried out using various cross-coupling reactions, such as the Yamamoto – Suzuki reaction. In the the work Friedel-Crafts reaction between tetraphenylmethane and dimethoxymethane was used for the new generation of porous aromatic frameworks (PAF-FC) synthesis. The advantage of this approach in comparison with the synthesis of PAF-11 is the high availability and low cost of initial reagents. Low-temperature adsorption-desorption of nitrogen showed that investigated for the first time within the work PAF-FC is a highly porous material (SBET = 768 m2/g). Introduction 10 wt. % of PAF-FC into PTMSP matrix made it possible to achieve preservation of gas transport properties of a thin (24.5 μm) dense membrane at the level of previously obtained values for a similar one with classical PAF-11.
