Cellulose nanoparticles are good thickener for different polar media. Thus, they can be used for producing of biodegradable grease lubricants. However, nanocellulose particles are usually crystalline one, which can result in high wear of friction surfaces. There are many ways for producing microcrystalline, microfibrillar, and nanocristalline celluloses but they are practically absent for obtaining of amorphous one. In this research we proposed new way to produce amorphous cellulose from its complex solution in N-methylmorpholine N-oxide by precipitation with different non-solvents. As the result we prepared dispersion of nano- or micro-sized cellulose in water and different alcohols. These dispersions are viscoplastic media (gels), the elastic modulus and yield stress of which are depended of preparation prehistory and cellulose concentration. The medium of dispersions can be changed by abstertion with esters for producing low-temperature biodegradable grease. These greases are viscoelastic gels, using of which in friction nodes result in reduction of friction and wear coefficients.
