Nowadays, a cross-cultural approach is one of the most effective approaches to language teaching. In the last 5 years Russia and China have become closest political and economic partners. The majority of Russian youngsters are interested in studying this eastern language. Consequently, now the most mainstream foreign language in Russia is Chinese language. In the methodics of teaching foreign language, especially Chinese, Russian specialists use cross-cultural approach. According to this approach students develop their skills and knowledge of both cultural backgrounds (their native and foreign) in their equal status, in their mutual intersection and integration. Foreign language and culture are mirrored, and it reveals the unconscious features of the native language and own culture. The technology of cross-cultural approach includes: acquaintance with the fact of another culture - familiarization with the fact the native culture in a foreign language - moving the fact of another culture in their own and realizing of its features – revaluation of understanding of the fact of native culture - awareness of their national identity – attainment with the new I-position phenomena of another culture – revaluation of the fact of another culture – formation of ideas about the native culture from the perspective of a native speaker. By introducing a cross-cultural approach to the teaching of the Chinese language, we can argue that the youth of Russia and China will realize the importance of the dialogue of cultures and the rich historical and civilizational experience of Russia and China.
