One of the authors of this report has previously dedicated a research to the study of the syntax of the european ottava rima, using the method proposed by Boris Tomaševskij3 and based on the analysis of the punctuation at the end of poetic lines (the power of the syntactic pause is evaluated depending on the absence or presence of a sign, i.e. a comma, a dash, a semicolon or a dot / question / exclamation mark). Collaboration with the second author of the report, who specializes in DH, allowed to create a software that is capable to collect and analyze this information automatically. The use of this software allowed to conduct a macrostudy, having considerably expanded the material: now the research is done not on samples, but on full texts from Boccaccio to Tassoni. Such a study made it possible to partly confirm and partly refute the hypotheses formulated previously on the samples.
