Using a long-slit and 3D optical spectroscopic technique at the 2.5-m and 6-m Russian telescopes together with deep direct images, we have studied an active nucleus radiation output on the gas at large distances outside stellar discs in several Seyfert galaxies. The kinematics and ionization state of the gas were analysed with the aim to understand the origin of external gaseous clouds. One of the most spectacular cases is the Mrk 6 galaxy, where the observed data suggest the scenario, according to which the hard radiation of the active nucleus illuminated the matter accreted from outside.
