In this study we analyzed the 3 µm band as seen by the M³ instrument on the near-equatorial crater Dryden. The R2657/R2817 value, as a measure of the absorption strength, starts at a high value in the lunar morning, increases slightly and falls to the lowest value on in the lunar mid-day. In the lunar late afternoon/evening, the R2657/R2817 value increases again, but does not reach the high values of the lunar morning. Obtained results can be preliminary explained by solar wind delivery of H2O/OH to the surface of the Moon during the lunar day. This behavior is highly interesting. Consequently, we will analyze further images of the lunar evening regions and compare the results to the lunar crater Dryden.
