We propose a new low-cost approach for description of nonlinear light self-action, and demonstrate its efficiency in a problem of light propagation in highly-dispersive (in optical range) planar metamaterial consisting of two silver strips. Owing to plasmonic resonances in such a structure, which result in strong amplification of local field, it is possible to achieve high sensitivity of the transmission coefficient to the intensity of incident monochromatic wave.
