We have directly demonstrated existence of a nonlocal component of the terahertz photoresponse in thick epitaxial Hg1-xCdхTe films in a magnetic field. The film composition x < 0.16 corresponds to the topological phase. The sign of the nonlocal photoresponse depends on the position of the potential probe and the direction of the magnetic field, which indicates the chirality of the induced nonequilibrium transport. The observed nontrivial features of photo transport can be interpreted as a manifestation of the formation of a chiral edge conducting channel in the topological phase of Hg1-xCdхTe alloys. We discuss the results in terms of a qualitative model that takes into account the coexistence of bulk transport and boundary conducting channels.
