COVID-19 global pandemic affected education worldwide and journalism faculty and students were not an exception. As all other educational institutions journalism schools urgently within one day were asked to quickly switch their classes from regular face-to-face format to remote and online teaching. The abruptness of this transfer caused different reactions in academic and student communities. This paper presents results of expert review of how Russian journalism educators evaluate both stressful and driving experience they gained during quarantine – lessons they learned, skills they gained and mistakes they made. Executives from 15 geographically spread Russian journalism schools shared overview of how their faculty coped with classroom shutdown.
