Earthquakes and tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, typhoons, cyclones, floods on the one hand and social disasters -- revolutions, wars, crop failures and famines, epidemics on the other hand, as universal disasters lead to great material losses and significant human casualties. These events not only create great tension in society, but are often decisive factors in the reconstruction and modernization of people's lives. The totality of natural, man-made and social disasters must be considered as a single critical destabilizing factor that hinders the sustainable development of humanity. A GLOBAL CATASTROPHE is an event, the damage from which humanity is not able to eliminate the total resource (financial, material, organizational) potential and the consequence of which will be the irreversible process of the death of modern civilization. The selection of factual material in terms of global social phenomena cannot claim to be complete and objective, correct assessment. But we focused on those events that, in our opinion, really affected the development of human civilization. In general, the distribution of disasters is as follows: Natural: earthquakes -- 28.2%, floods -- 14.8%, droughts -- 5.6%, volcanic eruptions -- 1.4%. Social: famine, fires -- 22.5%, wars -- 1 2.7%, epidemics -- 9.2%, genocide -- 4.2%, disappearance of civilizations -- 1.4%. It is obvious that the Earth from the standpoint of the theory of catastrophes evolves according to certain rules of a single bio-socio-geodynamics. We have made an assumption about the existence of the relationship between natural and social disasters as an important (fundamental) regularity of a single planetary geosocial process.
