Heat shock proteins (HSPs) are a large family of molecular chaperones that assist client proteins in folding, trafficking and degradation.HSPs are classified into several families such as HSP110, HSP90, HSP70, HSP40, chaperonins and HSPB. HSPs have been shown to be implicated in the regulation of apoptosis, angiogenesis, invasion, immune responses and metastasis. High expression of HSPs on the surface correlates with the aggressiveness and resistance to therapy in various types of cancer. In this study, we analyzed the expression of extracellular HSPs in patients with Hodgkin and Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. We found that members of HSP90 and HSP70 families are overexpressed in patients with various types of Hodgkin and Non-Hodgkin lymphoma compared to healthy volunteers. These findings may open new perspectives on the use of extracellular HSPs as biomarkers of lymphoma.
