Particle identification is an important feature of the MPD detector at the NICA. For particle identification via the time-of-flight technique, the precise determination of the event collision time represents an important component of the quality of the measurement. In this work, the software method used for such a measurement in MPD by means the TOF detectors are reviewed. Efficiencies, resolution and particle separation power of the method used will be presented for the Monte Carlo simulation data.
