Different types of space radiation detectors – semiconductor, Cherenkov, SiPM – have been widely used in space conditions for various tasks. The Combined Radiation Detector (KODIZ) was developed at M.V.Lomonosov Moscow State University, Skobeltsyn Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP MSU) using different detection methods. It is designed to register dose rates of cosmic radiation, fluxes of high-energy nuclei, and neutron fluxes on microsatellites such as CubeSats. The instrument is expected to be used to detect the appearance of Solar Energetic Particles (SEP) fluxes, which may create an additional radiation load onboard aircrafts. The KODIZ instrument was launched onboard “Monitor-1” 3U CubeSat on 9 August 2022 with the Soyuz-2.1b launcher with the Fregat upper stage within the framework of the “SPACE-p” project.
