Recently, research of cathode materials for Li-ion batteries becomes one of the largest directions of scientific work in all over the world. One of the most investigated materials in this field is vanadium oxide with aerogel morphology. The aim of the present work is the creation of nanowires/aerogel composite on the base of vanadium oxides as cathode materials for Li-ion batteries. Originality of the work is using of the Ba0.25V2O5 novel phase nanowires which “work” together with aerogel as cathode material. Electrochemical properties investigation of the nanowires showed high and constant discharge capacity (~145 mAh/g). Moreover, electronic conductivity of nanowires was quite high (~9 mS/cm). The aerogels obtained had very high discharge capacity (~300 mAh/g) but electronic conductivity was not so high (~0.4 mS/cm). This fact predetermined necessity of addition of high conductive Ba0.25V2O5 nanowires. Obtained nanowires/aerogel composite had similar morphology with common aerogels. After oxidizing annealing of the composite the discharge capacity at 1 cycle was equal to ~130 mAh/g and slightly went down to constant value ~80 mAh/g at further cycles. In addition, we are developing a novel RESS-technique for spraying of composite onto current collector.
