Since the outbreak of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine in February 2022, the geopolitical and economic environment in Eurasia has been greatly impacted. In the post-Soviet era, the economies of the central Asian countries are still highly dependent on Russia. With the long-term conflict between Russia and Ukraine and the gradual escalation of western sanctions against Russia, the economic development of central Asian countries is facing new challenges. But since the conflict broke out, the economies of the central Asian countries have shown greater resilience than expected. Eurasian Economic Union is still the most important economic integration organization in the region, but with the inevitable decline of Russia's regional influence, the economic presence of countries outside the region continues to strengthen in Central Asia, providing new development opportunities for other regional institutional arrangements. It is particularly important for the Central Asian countries to participate in the regional economic system arrangement more effectively and integrate into the globalization through regionalization in order to promote their own economic development. This paper will examine the economic interaction of the Central Asian countries under the new situation, analyze the new trend of the regional integration process, and explore the path selection of the integration of various countries.
