The present report reveals the comparative-contrastive analysis of two Russian translations of the poetic text which belongs to Old English period in the history of the language. These magnificent lines glorify the victory of the English people over the united forces of the Scotts and the Vikings. This famous poem is the Battle of Brunanburh.
