We study a phenomenon of >30 keV electron flux enhancements, which temporarily arise in a wide longitudinal region of the equatorial topside ionosphere over Pacific Ocean and South Atlantic Anomaly. During such events energetic electron fluxes suddenly rise more than 104 times above a quiet level at heights from 500 to 800 km that is comparable to auroral zone intensities. The equatorial phenomenon irregularly occurs during geomagnetic activity periods and can last several hours. Previously we have showed that an impact of intensive fluxes of the >30 keV electrons on the thermosphere-ionosphere system at low latitudes is significant. Here we present results of comprehensive statistical analysis of electron flux enhancements at low latitudes during the 24th solar cycle minimum.
