This paper reports a substantial improvement in bifacial silicon solar cell efficiency achieved by the appli-cation of a novel Laminated Grid (LG) cell design of current collecting system for solar cells. In LG cell design the cur-rent collecting grid is made of wire, attached to both cell surfaces by a low temperature lamination process, both cell sur-faces were previously covered by electroconducting antireflection coating of ITO. Application of LG design to industrial nnp structures resulted in efficiency increase up to 19.2% (bifaciality about 66%) for Cz c-Si. Via optimisation of nnp structures and surface passivation, further efficiency increase is expected.
