The development of medical sciences and the appearance of new methods of therapy, diagnosis and prevention of diseases require the creation of a unified system of terminology for the global scientific community. The purpose of this study is to analyze the process of globalization of medical terminology. The principal methods of research are: comparative and descriptive analysis, historical and etymological research and the study of word-formation. The essence of globalization reveal itself in the phenomena and processes in a deeper level, thus international medical terminology should be clear to all the participants taking part in the global medical discourse. Additionally, the established concepts must fully reflect the term meaning. There are the results of this study below. Incessant development of medical language can be attributed: 1)of Latin as the wildly accepted language of medicine and education in antiquity and the Middle Ages; 2) the possibility of using less language resources. In the English terminological system, as well as Russian, the following techniques are used: 1) morphological method (prefixes, suffixes,); 2) borrowing from other languages; 3) appropriating the Greco-Latin terms; 4) metonymic transfer The appearance of new concepts requires the creating new terms. Today, the international language is English, so in most publications is the one used most often. Thus, there is a globalization of the English language and medical terminology. Thus, there is a need to globalize and harmonize medical dictionaries, thesauruses because the processes of integration of humanity in global community are being slow down by the langue disunity. A lack of mutual understanding, ambiguity in global medical discourse are lead to false therapy and appearance of iatrogenic diseases. Revealing and overcoming of disagreements in understanding of medical lexis will help in successful use of new methods in therapy and prevention of diseases.
