The excursion form of activity is widely used in school education. Its positive side lies in the quintessence of available knowledge and its application in practice, which makes the lesson more interesting and useful for the students, allows them to acquire skills important for life and creates links between different areas of knowledge (comprehensiveness and interdisciplinarity). The purpose of this paper is to determine the place and role of the field excursion as a form of learning activity to stimulate students' interest in learning about the world around them in a hands-on way, focusing on the terrain as a basic component of the landscape. The paper aims to promote the use of field trips as a form of educational activity to combine theoretical and practical knowledges. This is because geography is by nature a complex science, designed to serve man in almost all aspects of his activities, both in choosing a place to live and in conducting business. In this study, the context of the relief has been chosen because it is the basis of the landscape. Understanding and defining the geomorphological position influences the choice of a place to building and organisation of people's recreational activities.
