The aim of the empirical study is to investigate mental states (MS) dynamics in work as well as to find the individually dependent preferences in recreation means. The study was conducted in several of the dynamically developing organizations in the level of regional tax departments system; 62 employees were involved (all women, age from 19 to 48). The results showed the statistically significant increase in subjective tension in the end of the working days, preceding the days of taxpayers’ intensive visits. This tension increase occurs especially in employees, who have to communicate with visitors according to their work tasks. Thus, the subjectively perceived tension will inevitably increase after organizational restructuring. The range of recreation and coping means, which people use during the work hours, is quite limited, and they are not effective enough.
