The structure of hydrazine was published back in 1951, the structure of hydroxylamine – a little later, in 1955. Both structures were determined doubtful. Surprisingly, despite the fact that both hydrazine and hydroxylamine have found widespread use, including as rocket fuel, the structures of pure small molecules – hydrazine and hydroxylamine – have somehow been neglected. So, after almost 70 years, we were able to obtain and structurally characterize the crystals of hydrazine and hydroxylamine.
