In this report, the focus is on analyzing the limitations imposed by Russian legislation regarding the establishment of regional political parties. The author delves into the requirements for party registration and the implications of this prohibition. Furthermore, attention is drawn to the presence of regional parties and socio - political movements prior to the implementation of a distinct law concerning political parties in Russia. Additionally, the author explores the stance of the Constitutional Court on this matter and emphasizes the necessity of considering the specificities of Russia's federal structure and its extensive diversity.
