Аннотация доклада:
Starting from January 1, 2024, 5 new countries joined BRICS, including Egypt and Ethiopia. New members have been added even more disputes within the union. Ethiopia insists on its right to build the dam and fill the reservoir being created on the Blue Nile River as part of the construction of the massive “Renaissance” dam, since the river is the main source of water for the Nile. The construction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) has caused significant tension in relations between Ethiopia, Sudan and Egypt.
