The dynamics of the rate of rapid fixational movements during pre-cue fixation interval in comparison with that in “short” (4s) and “long” (8s) cue-target time intervals was studied in a modified attentional cuing paradigm. The results show that microsaccade rate in cue-target interval has a tendency to be lower than in the pre-cue fixation interval. The dynamics of the microsaccade rate in “short” and “long” cue-target time intervals is similar. There were no any surges in the eye activity during the second part of the “long” cue-target time interval in spite of the fact that the elongation of the latency period was unexpected for observers
