Guy Standing became the sociologist of the 21st century who has made the greatest contribution to the development of the Precariat category. The British scientist concludes that unreliable class is "dangerous to itself, due to chronic insecurity leading to high levels of marginal behavior and self-harm, up to and including suicide". Subsequently, the category of "precariat" received active theoretical development both in Western and Eastern Europe. Among Eastern European sociologists, the biggest contribution to the conceptualization of the precariat and the precariatization process is made by Estonian and Polish sociologists. David Körgel and Rölf Hörth, Andrei Verzhbitsky and Tadeusz Rahwal made a break through by analysis of the precariat in Global North and Global South countries. The main achievements of sociologists in Eastern Europe were: a departure from Eurocentrism and the designation of the specific features of the precariat depending on the economy and means of production of a particular country. To sum up, we can identify the precariatization process as the process of economic transformation, in which the Fordist model of mass production is replaced by a more flexible one that reduces costs from side of the employer.
