Reading refers to the processing of letters in both the foveal and parafoveal areas. It was demonstrated in previous research that differences in visual processing, including parafoveal processing, affect the reading process [Bosse & Valdois 2009]. The current study is aimed at estimating the letter recognition in the parafoveal area as well as examining the correlation between it and reading skills in primary school children.
