China's rapid economic growth in recent decades, the intensive use of natural resources are inevitably related to anthropogenic impacts on the environment. The priorities of the 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-2015) in environmental policy include energy conservation and efficiency, emissions reduction, formation of ecological thinking population, aimed on the economical use of resources and respect for the environment. There is an effectively functioning system of public monitoring of the environment and its individual components in China. Currently, results of monitoring are published daily in the media, this data include air quality in cities, surface water quality, marine water quality in the coastal zone, the level of noise pollution in 160 cities across the country. Despite the serious environmental problems in the last 15 years (since 1998), there is a definite trend to improve the current environmental situation due to the introduction of active and consistent implementation of programs to reduce pollution and prevent natural disasters. There are more than ten large-scale projects of environmental protection, most of which start in 1995-1998. Also it should be noted that since 2011 environmental mass protests are started. That indicates a change in the mentality of the Chinese people and start defending the right to life in an environmentally friendly surroundings.
