Аннотация доклада:
The disposal of high-level radioactive waste (RW) in geological formations is a complex task. The Russian concept of a radioactive waste disposal facility (RWDF) considers the development of engineered safety barriers using compacted clay materials. High-density bentonite clay material will be placed in the buffer zone. Many questions about the evolution of bentonite composition and properties under underground burial conditions remain open.
